About
Our Story
Rooted in Texas, by Choice and Blood
My connection to Texas runs deep, but not in the way you might expect. While I wasn’t born here, my roots go back four generations. When my single mother brought my brother and me back to Austin in 1975, she didn’t just move us to a new city; she moved us home.
I left Texas as a young adult, but I couldn’t stay away. I took the first job in back in Texas I could get, drawn back by a pull I couldn’t ignore. Today, my children and grandchild are native Texans.
I love this state—not blindly, but with clear eyes. I love the variety of landscapes, people, and cultures that make up Texas, but I also see the imminent threat of water scarcity.
That’s why PacksaddleTX exists.
We believe you don’t have to sacrifice beauty to save water. It’s time to ditch the thirsty, high-maintenance lawn and embrace a landscape that thrives in our warming earth. By planting native and well-adapted, water-wise seeds like Texas Mountain Laurel, Red Yucca, and Esperanza, you invite vibrant pops of color and essential pollinators into your garden.
Welcome to PacksaddleTX. Let’s grow something that belongs.
